A shared resort full of games
Tower Unite is a community-based virtual world party game built around The Plaza, a resort area packed with activities. You can play over 30 multiplayer Arcade games for tickets and prizes, bowl with friends, fish for over 100 unique fish, gamble in the Casino, or take on community-submitted questions in Trivia. The Boardwalk holds carnival games like Bumper Cars and Water Blasters, plus rides including a rollercoaster and a ferris wheel. There is also a Nightclub with billiards and media playback, a Theater for synchronized YouTube and SoundCloud, Laser Tag, Typing Derby, and a dark ride called the Dark Voyage. Seasonal events for Summer, Halloween, Easter, and Winter Holidays bring limited time items.
Playing together and competing
Everything in the Plaza is multiplayer, so your group can split up across activities or stay together. Beyond the Plaza, the game includes several full multiplayer modes: minigolf for up to 16 players across 13 courses of 18 holes, an FPS arena shooter for up to 12 players with gametypes like CTF and Team Deathmatch, a kart racer for up to 10 players with 14 items and 8 tracks, ball racing for up to 16 players across 12 worlds, a top-down zombie shooter for up to 6 players with 6 character classes, and an infection-style FPS for up to 12 players. There is also a mode for up to 8 players where one person becomes a Dragon and the rest play as knights. Most modes let a player host their own server, and several have single player modes.
Creation and customization
You can customize your character with accessories and Workshop player models, and import custom models directly through Steam Workshop. The game lets you build unique creations, make custom levels to share and play, and set up custom arcades with Libretro built in. There are over 3,000 unique and interactive items to earn, plus achievements and ranks. The developers state there are no microtransactions or subscription fees, and that every content update is free. The game is in Early Access and is updated regularly with new features and content.
