What Sky: Children of the Light is
Sky is an open-world adventure where you play as a small figure exploring seven realms, freeing trapped spirits and returning them to the constellations to bring light back to a fallen kingdom. You fly, dive and glide across the landscapes, picking up Winged Light along the way to make your flight stronger. Alongside the main journey there are quests, puzzles and seasonal events, plus a steady stream of new Seasons every three months and shorter events through the year. It's a game built around curiosity and quiet discovery rather than combat, and it leans into atmosphere, emotion and a gentle, family-friendly tone.
Playing it together with friends
Sky is an online multiplayer game, and the whole design pushes you toward other people. You can offer your light to fellow travelers and interact through emotes, chat, hand-holding and more. A friend can take your hand and literally lead you through the realms, and you can call for help when you get stuck. Puzzles that block your path are meant to be solved with teamwork, and strangers often turn into guides. Chat is only visible to friends or in designated spots like benches, so the shared world stays calm; built-in translation lets you talk to anyone you meet. Beyond the journey, you can build your own Nest, decorate it with collectible furniture, visit friends' Nests for ideas, and craft shared spaces out in the open world where other players can gather. You can also leave messages for travelers to find and write your own for others. Instruments are in the mix too — playing one can turn into a band.
Before you start
Sky is in Early Access, so expect things to keep changing and growing. It's free to play, with hundreds of cosmetic items to collect — capes, masks, glasses, hairstyles, boots and more — and millions of possible outfit combinations for your Sky Kid. Content arrives on a cycle: Seasons every three months, shorter events through the year, and occasional limited-time live experiences where thousands of players show up at once, like the AURORA concert. The game is designed as a safe, welcoming place, and it works just as well if you prefer to explore alone for a while and let friendships form naturally when you want them.
