What The You Quiz is about
The You Quiz is a party game built around one simple idea: the questions are about the people playing. One player sits as the King, and everyone else acts as Courtiers trying to guess what the King thinks, likes, or would do. Prompts cover personal, odd, and funny territory, like the King's unpopular opinion, the King's first reaction to the end of the world, or three things the King hates. There are over 1,000 personal questions in the game, so a session rarely lands on the same material twice. The tone is colorful and cartoonish, with plenty of dialogue and room for playful nonsense alongside genuine answers.
How a group plays it together
The King reads each prompt and judges the answers that come in. A weak answer gets rejected, a decent one moves the player one step forward, and a great answer earns two steps up the stairs. The stairs are the scoreboard: whoever reaches the top first dethrones the King and takes the crown, so the role rotates as the game goes on. The game supports 3 to 8 players and works either on the couch with phones or tablets as controllers, or online where only one copy is needed and the rest of the group joins through the Friend's Pass for up to 7 friends. At the end, everyone earns a title from a pool of more than 30, matching how they played.
Before you start
A few settings are worth checking first. The child-friendly mode makes playing with kids easier, and individual themes can be switched off with a toggle if any subject feels unsuitable for your group. The King can also enable the Hate Button for hard vetoes, and the Stairs size, timers, and a range of other options can be adjusted to taste. If the built-in questions run thin for your group, you can write your own and add them directly, or pull question packs from the Workshop. Picking the themes you want to play with before the first round keeps the session moving.
