Build a medieval realm and fight in real time
The Settlers® : Heritage of Kings - History Edition is a medieval real-time strategy game where you settle a landscape, grow a colony, and command armies. The pace moves between two sides of the same coin: a build-up phase where you explore and populate the land, and real-time fights that break out once your forces meet the enemy. The History Edition is a modernized version of the game, made Windows 10 compatible, and it ships with the main game plus both expansions.
Playing together with your group
Multiplayer runs through Uplay, so your group can take the game online and face each other in PvP matches. Each player works their own settlement and army, which means the shared session splits between cooperating on what to build and where to push, and competing over the map once the fighting starts. Remote Play Together is also available, letting one person host and others join in from their own setup.
Before you start
Expect a game that asks you to manage both economy and military at once, since your colony feeds the war effort and the wars decide how far your colony can expand. The map offers varied landscapes to explore and settle, so scouting matters as much as base layout. Make sure everyone in the group has Uplay set up, since multiplayer goes through it rather than Steam alone.
