Eat Everything in Sight
Tasty Planet Forever puts you in control of a small cat with an endless appetite. You start by nibbling on rats and baguettes, then grow large enough to swallow people, cars, trees, and whole buildings. The loop is simple: eat what is smaller than you, avoid what is bigger, and keep growing until you can devour the entire level. The game spans eight main worlds, starting in Paris and moving on to the Caribbean, the savanna, a city, the Pacific Ocean, Mars, and more. Each world swaps in a new character, such as an angry octopus or a heroic rat, but the core eating mechanic stays the same. With well over 150 levels and hundreds of different things to eat, there is a lot of ground to cover.
Play Couch Co-Op
The whole game can be played locally with a friend in split screen. You both work through the levels side by side, each with your own character, racing to see who can eat more and grow faster. Since it is a side-scrolling platformer, you will be running and jumping together through the same stages, competing for the top score or just causing as much destruction as you can. The game also supports Remote Play Together, so a friend can join in over the internet even if they do not have it installed.
What to Know Before Starting
This is a score attack game at heart, so replaying levels to beat your best run is part of the fun. The difficulty comes from knowing what you can eat at your current size and steering clear of larger threats until you have grown enough to take them on. The tone is cartoonish and light, with hand-drawn visuals and a post-apocalyptic streak once you get big enough to start swallowing cities whole. Eight bonus characters, including a metal cat and a black hole, are unlocked as you play, giving you more to work toward after clearing the main worlds.
