A gladiator arena built on turn-based combat

Swords and Sandals Immortals puts you in the arena as a custom-built gladiator. Combat is turn-based, so each side takes its turn choosing attacks, skills and items. Fights can end with limbs severed or heads knocked off, and your gladiator keeps fighting after losing an arm or a leg. Weapons range from battle axes to guitars, and some attacks are as loud as a yell that drops an opponent. The game runs on the Godot Engine with new effects, particles, animations and music.

Playing together with your group

Multiplayer is online PvP: you control your own gladiator and face other players' gladiators in turn-based matches. There is no co-op mode listed, so your group plays by challenging each other to fights rather than teaming up against the arena. Leaderboards track how you rank against other players worldwide.

What to know before starting

Character creation is deep. You pick from dozens of races, adjust height, weight, facial features and hometown, then choose a class and work through skill trees with hundreds of weapons to craft and equip. Classes include things like an undead barbarian wielding a mandolin or a Sagan Blob archmage that regenerates lost limbs. Alongside multiplayer, there is a single player campaign called Swords and Sandals VI that continues the story from Swords and Sandals III, with the Automatons returning to Brandor. That campaign spans the T'Kash desert, the Forbidden Depths and the palaces of Phaetor, features over 40 Arena Champions, and includes fast-paced 3D mini-dungeons. Combat skills let you throw weapons, throw used healing potions, call molten death from the sky or play guitar solos that shake the ground.
