Building a community after the collapse

Survivalist is a top-down open-world RPG set one year after civilization fell. You play Joe Wheeler, a self-centered hedge fund manager who leaves his bunker to look for food. The goal is to find other survivors, earn their trust, and grow that group into a working community. Along the way you scavenge for supplies, trade, plant crops, take on quests, and deal with moral choices that shape how the story plays out. The world also hides darker secrets that come out as you push further.

Playing together with friends

Survivalist supports online co-op, so you and your friends can share the same world. The game mixes action-RPG play with real-time strategy: any character who joins your community can be controlled directly or given orders. That means your group can split tasks, send people to gather or fight, and coordinate how the settlement grows. Combat against fast zombies stays demanding, so working together and using every tool you have matters.

What to know before starting

Choices carry weight. Characters remember what you do and adjust their opinion of you, which affects how they treat you later. Expect a sandbox structure with base building, crafting, exploration, and strategy layered onto the action. The game also has a sequel, Survivalist: Invisible Strain, if you want to keep going afterward.
