A world after the collapse

VEIN is a post-apocalyptic survival sandbox set in the near future, where hostile zombies roam the Earth, most people have died, and society has collapsed. You are a survivor. You gather supplies, explore abandoned buildings, fight bandits, and try to hold on. The world changes as time passes and seasons shift, and persistent random events on a long scale affect how you play. The AI can see, hear, feel, and smell you and reacts to those senses, so you are being watched. Terrifying zombie variants make survival harder. Nearly everything you can see is usable: open mailboxes, adjust faucets, knock on doors, or throw a can of beans at a zombie.

Playing together with your group

You can play alone or with friends. Together you rebuild society, maintain a base, and defend it against raiders and invasions. Building over the destroyed world lets you establish safehouses, and base upkeep can be handled solo or shared. Long-term survival work like hunting, fishing, trapping, tilling land, growing food, and chopping wood keeps a group fed and supplied once canned goods run out. Cars and trucks get you around the world; refuel and maintain them, upgrade parts to repair damage and improve performance. Online co-op lets your group share the load, and online PvP is available if your group wants to test itself against other survivors.

Before you start

Character creation runs from hair to body type to stats, so each survivor can be built to a role your group needs. The game is in Early Access, so features and balance can change as it develops. If you play the demo, you are limited to a small region of the world and your skills cap at level 50 instead of 100; there are no other restrictions, and the demo receives regular feature updates and bug fixes alongside the main game. Expect a dark, first-person survival experience where the environment, the AI, and your own supplies all demand attention.
