A Grand Strategy Game Set in 2092
Solar Nations 2 puts you in charge of one of the Solar System's Great Powers in the year 2092. You lead your nation through a period of massive change, deciding how humanity will spread across the stars. The game runs in real-time with pause, so you can issue orders as things happen or stop the clock to think through a complex situation. You are responsible for everything within your borders, from military movements to political decisions, without relying on AI assistance to manage your nation for you.
Conquering the Nine Planets
The core of the game is expanding your influence across the entire Solar System. Each of the nine planets offers different strategic value: Mercury gives you the closest access to the Sun, Venus is a high-risk terraforming opportunity, Earth provides population and industry, and Mars has valuable resources near the Asteroid Belt. Jupiter's moons, Saturn's rare resources, the Ice Giants' research potential, and the Kuiper Belt all present unique chances for colonization and conflict. You build colonies, develop revolutionary technologies, and construct great projects that define your civilization's legacy.
Warfare Across the Void
When diplomacy fails, you command vast space fleets to conquer planets. You can combine armies, aircraft, ships, spacecraft, and strategic weapons into a single war machine, with each force type serving a distinct role. Beyond the broad strokes of fleet command, you can intricately customize each vessel to fit a specific role you have in mind. The political landscape adds another layer: civilizations are divided by worldviews, ambitions, and rival visions for humanity's future, and these old struggles expand into space as mankind spreads beyond Earth.
Playing Together and Customizing
Solar Nations 2 supports online co-op and online PvP, so you and your friends can reshape the Solar System together or compete against each other. The built-in scenario editor lets you create alternate histories, future scenarios, custom nations, borders, flags, populations, and political setups. You can share your creations through Steam Workshop and download community scenarios to play. The game is in Early Access, so expect the experience to evolve over time as development continues.
