Molecules on a grid
Sokobond is a Sokoban-style puzzle game where you move a single atom around a 2D grid and connect it to others to build molecules. Each level is a compact arrangement of atoms and bonds, and the goal is to reach the correct molecular structure. The rules follow chemistry: atoms form bonds according to their valence, so you cannot simply attach anything anywhere. The game states that no chemistry knowledge is required to play, and the logic is taught through the levels themselves.
Over 100 levels of mind-benders
There are over 100 levels, each a self-contained puzzle to solve at your own pace. The difficulty is tagged as difficult, so expect levels that take real thought rather than quick reflexes. The game is tagged as relaxing and casual alongside difficult, which fits its minimalist presentation: clean 2D visuals, abstract shapes, and a calm pace with no timer pushing you. An original soundtrack by Allison Walker runs through the game.
Playing together
Sokobond is a singleplayer game, but it supports Remote Play Together, which lets friends join in over a remote session. Since the puzzles are turn-based and logic-driven, a group can take turns working through levels or talk through a tricky one together. There is no local multiplayer mode listed, so the shared experience comes from the remote play feature rather than a built-in co-op or versus mode.
Before you start
The game is tagged with controller support, so you can play with a controller or mouse. It is family friendly and educational in tone, with science and logic at its core, but the abstract presentation means it reads more as a pure puzzle game than a chemistry lesson. Expect a steep curve as levels progress, and expect to restart and rethink rather than brute-force a solution.
