A crossover fighter from the arcade era

SNK VS. CAPCOM SVC CHAOS is a 2D fighting game from 2003, brought back by Code Mystics with its original visuals and controls intact. It pulls 36 characters from SNK and CAPCOM rosters into one roster: Kyo Kusanagi, Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, Mars People and Athena on the SNK side, Ryu, Chun-Li, Demitri, Zero and Red Arremer among the CAPCOM fighters. The result is a fast, frantic fight to the finish where matchups you would never see otherwise are the whole point. The pixel art and classic control scheme are kept as they were, so it plays like the arcade original rather than a reworked version.

Playing together with your group

Online PvP is the main way to play against each other, backed by newly added rollback netcode so matches stay responsive. Online lobbies hold up to nine players, which suits a group that wants to rotate through matches in one room instead of setting up separate games. Tournament play is included with three formats: single elimination, double elimination, and round-robin, so you can run a bracket that fits how many people are around and how long you want to play. Remote Play Together is also supported, letting friends join in through a shared session.

What to know before starting

The game is a 2D fighter with a large roster, so expect to spend time learning characters and their moves before matches feel competitive. A hitbox viewer is included, showing each character's collision areas in detail — useful when you want to understand why a move connected or whiffed. There is also a gallery mode with 89 artworks, covering key art and character portraits. The tone is dark and the presentation is rooted in 1990s arcade aesthetics, with pixel graphics throughout. Singleplayer is available for those who want to play alone, but the tournament and lobby tools are built around playing against other people.
