What Skeleton Hell is
Skeleton Hell is a cooperative horror game set in an underground sanctum where you and your friends have been imprisoned as skeletons. The goal of each run is to find your missing organs and get out alive. Every player has to locate their own heart, which is hidden somewhere in the procedurally generated dungeon, and that heart is the ticket to the overworld. The sanctum is small, so you will be searching every corner rather than crossing huge maps. Enemies with their own behaviours and patterns roam the place, and getting caught sends you back to the cell you started in. The game is in Early Access, and it is free to play.
How your group plays it together
You play in first person and the whole thing is built around working as a team, with online co-op and proximity chat so you can talk to whoever is close by. As a skeleton, bones are your main tool: you can throw them to interact with the environment, distract enemies, or help another player along. You can also throw each other to reach places and solve puzzles that block progress. Bones are also your health, so every one you spend or lose brings you closer to death, which makes throwing them a real decision rather than a free action. Cooperation is not the only option, though. You can share information about where a heart is, or you can lie, lure a friend toward a dangerous trap, and lead them astray. Once everyone has a heart and is ready, the group has to climb back to the top of the dungeon before time runs out.
Before you start
The game has no limit on the number of players, but the developers have only tested it with four, so larger groups may behave unpredictably. Levels are generated procedurally, so enemy placements and heart locations change between runs and no walkthrough carries over. Expect a mix of stealth, puzzle solving and sudden danger rather than straight combat, and expect to lose bones when you use them. The tone leans toward comedy alongside the horror, with stylized visuals rather than realism.
