A 1997 arcade shooter returns
SHOCK TROOPERS is a 2D top-down action shooter that first appeared on the NEOGEO MVS arcade system in 1997. You take control of a mercenary and push through battlefields, picking your shots and moving to stay alive. The mission is to rescue Dr. George and his granddaughter, who have been kidnapped by a terrorist group called the "Bloody Scorpions." The pixel graphics and retro presentation keep the look and feel of the original arcade release.
Choose your squad and your route
In the Arcade mode, you can go it alone in "Lonely Wolf" mode or build a team of three soldiers from a roster of eight mercenaries. The route you pick at the start of a run changes how the game plays out, so different choices lead to different runs. You can also clear missions with a friend through the Online Co-Op Play feature, working together to take down the Bloody Scorpions. Leaderboards let you check your rank and score against your friends and other players at any time.
Settings and system notes
The game includes settings for language, video and language display, and sound volume, so you can tune the presentation to your liking. One important note before you start: SHOCK TROOPERS will not run on Windows XP.
