Defending the ship from the inside
SENTRY is a first-person shooter where you hold a spaceship against waves of invading aliens. You were thawed from stasis by the SENTRY Defense Program to protect the vessel as it flees across space. Alien vessels board your ship and fight through its subsystems to reach the Core, and your job is to stop them before it goes down. Your gun alone will not be enough against the numbers, so you also deploy traps and turrets, and use the ship itself as a weapon. A well-timed shot can vent aliens into space, and closing a blast door can buy you time to set up new defenses. Between fights you pick your escape route in the Navigator, and alien encounters along the way are unavoidable.
Playing together
The campaign can be played alone, or with one friend fighting alongside you online in co-op. Both of you take the role of a SENTRY and share the same job: keep the Core alive. That means splitting attention across the ship, covering different approaches, and combining gunfire with traps, turrets, and environmental kills. If a SENTRY falls in battle, death is not the end. Another crew member is thawed from stasis and continues the fight, so a bad moment does not end the run for the group.
What carries over between fights
Battles are not one-off events. Losing a level does not send you back to replay a checkpoint; it changes the strategic landscape in the Ship Overview and forces new decisions about where to make your next stand. As long as a SENTRY survives and the Core stays operational, the campaign goes on. Finding and upgrading new equipment gives you an edge in combat, and successful escapes come from mixing shooting skill with planning ahead. The enemies are reactive and aggressive, so expect to be outnumbered and to lean on your tools as much as your aim.
