A detailed Scania R-series simulation

Scania Truck Driving Simulator puts you in the cab of a Scania R-series truck. It comes from SCS Software, the developers of Euro Truck Simulator 2, and it focuses on precise, realistic truck handling rather than racing. The game is tagged as singleplayer, first-person and realistic, and it includes a large, detailed 3D city to drive through.

Proving your truck skills

The core of the game is a set of 10 individual truck maneuvering challenges that act as a practical exam for your driving licence. These courses ask you to reverse a trailer without hitting obstacles, pick your way through a complex obstacle track, and park with centimetre precision. Once you have your licence, a dozen disciplines inspired by the Young European Truck Driver competition let you compete against the best and refine your technique. Beyond that, over a dozen ultimate challenges take you through mountain roads, bad weather and blocked routes, and freeform missions let you pick loads and deliver freight around the city with complete freedom.

What to know before starting

This is a singleplayer simulation, so your group will not be driving together in the same session. Steam lists Remote Play Together, which lets friends join in remotely. Online leaderboards let you upload high scores and download the best result charts, and you can study downloadable re-plays from the masters to learn their techniques. The game also includes a virtual visit to Scania's own Demo Centre and a gallery of Scania vehicle photos and videos, plus highlights from previous Young European Truck Driver seasons.
