A Warring States battlefield in the palm of your hand
SAMURAI WARRIORS 4 DX throws you into the Warring States period with a roster of 55 different officers, including Nobuyuki Sanada, Yoshitsugu Otani, Takatora Todo, Naotora Ii, and Munenori Yagyu. Yukimura Sanada and Nobunaga Oda return with revamped designs and enhanced action. The main Story Mode splits into two parts: regional stories covering areas like Kyushu and Shikoku, and a unification story detailing events leading to the end of the Warring States period. Battles between factions let you see the convictions, conflicts, and complicated feelings between officers. Chronicle Mode lets you roam the land, complete requests, meet officers, collect items, and create your own officer through the upgraded editing mode.
Fighting through crowds with simple controls
The core of the game is mowing down hordes of enemies in 1 vs. 1,000 battles. Hyper Attacks let you close distance fast and cut down enemies, while Rage mode powers up your attacks when the Spirit Gauge is full and unlocks Musou Frenzy Attacks as a finishing move. Characters have different attack types and a revamped progression system, giving you a wide range of attacks while keeping the simple controls the WARRIORS series is known for. Morale matters: enemy camps get stronger at higher Morale, so completing objectives and defeating standard bearers lowers enemy Morale and makes victory easier. Your actions directly shape how the battle plays out.
Playing together and what comes with this edition
SAMURAI WARRIORS 4 DX supports online co-op and local multiplayer, so your group can take on battles side by side. The Switch Character feature lets you swap between two characters on the battlefield in real time, and you can set a detailed plan of action for the character you are not currently playing. Switching can open up hidden objectives and give you an edge in battle. This deluxe edition packs in more than 150 previously released DLC items from SAMURAI WARRIORS 4, covering costumes, weapons, customization parts, scenarios, and BGM.
