What Ruins Of Mitriom is

Ruins Of Mitriom is a 2D pixel-art beat 'em up with roguelike and exploration elements. You lead a group of explorers across a continent, hunting for Mitriom, ancient energy crystals. Those crystals feed both your characters and your caravan, so every run is about deciding where the energy goes. The caravan carries upgrades you can swap in as the situation changes: park it during a fight, speed up the team and the caravan to run from a fight that is going badly, or boost the detector to sniff out crystals hidden on the island. There are 6 playable characters with their own abilities and 10 upgrades that come in different levels, so the build you end up with depends on what you find and what you choose to power.

Playing it together

The game runs from 1 to 4 players in co-op, and it also supports Remote Play Together, so friends who do not have it installed can join your session. Everyone controls one of the explorers and fights side by side against the various enemies on the map. Since the caravan is shared, the group has to agree on upgrades: one player might want the detector boosted while another wants the cannon online. Losing is shared too. If every player is knocked out, or the caravan is destroyed, the run is over and you start again from the beginning.

What to know before starting

The goal is to activate the lighthouses on the islands to reach the end of the game, so exploration and combat both matter — you cannot just fight your way through. Expect a short session: a run takes roughly 30 minutes to an hour, which makes it easy to fit into a group evening but also means a wipe costs real progress. The game is built around controllers, and the tags point to local multiplayer and local co-op, so plan on playing on one screen or through Remote Play Together. Because it is a roguelike, the first run is where you learn how the characters' skills and the dynamic upgrade system interact; later runs go smoother once you know which upgrades to feed in which situation.
