What Rocket Bot Royale is
Rocket Bot Royale is an online battle royale fought in 2D with custom robo-tanks. You drive a tank that can climb walls, rocket-jump through the air, and fire artillery, and the goal is simple: survive longer than everyone else on the island. The islands themselves are destructible and sinking, so the ground you're standing on is constantly changing and the water level keeps rising. Digging tunnels into the terrain works as cover and can uncover buried treasure, but it also means you have to keep moving or end up underwater. Combat is physics-driven, so a well-placed rocket can blast an opponent clean off the edge.
Loot is scattered across the map. Crates dropped from above can hold weapons and health, and exploring the islands turns up hidden items that help your run. There are also strange enemy tanks wandering around; they aren't very smart, but they carry loot and drop it when destroyed, which makes them worth hunting when you're low on power-ups or coins.
Playing it with your group
You can squad up in custom lobbies and play together, spectate your friends' matches while waiting for your turn, or set up private tournaments for the community. Cross-platform play means everyone shares the same battlefield whether they're on PC, mobile, or browser, so a group split across devices can still end up in the same match.
Daily rotating game modes give each session a different flavor, with twists like Zero Gravity and Rapid Fire. Skill-based matchmaking puts you against players around your level, and if your group wants something to climb together, there are global leaderboards and seasonal ladders with unique rewards each season.
Before you start
Expect a fast, chaotic shoot-out rather than a slow tactical crawl. The terrain is destructible and the water is rising, so standing still is rarely a good plan. Your tank is customizable: you can unlock and equip different tanks, trails, and gliders to look distinct on the battlefield. Controller support is listed, so you can pick whichever input feels right. The game is developed by Winterpixel Games, and the community has a hand in its direction through fan art, live dev streams, and community votes.
