Roll a Boulder Into Their Castle

Two castles face each other: yours and your enemy's. You take control of an enormous boulder and try to smash their tower to pieces. The boulder follows physics, so how you launch and steer it decides how much damage lands. The path between the castles is not empty either, since the other side is building defenses to stop you. Meanwhile, a giant boulder is heading your way too, so you have to protect your own tower while you attack.

Build Defenses and Pick Your Mode

Alongside the rolling, you place a variety of units to defend your tower and knock the enemy boulder off course. That mix of action and strategy is the core of the game: one moment you're steering a rock, the next you're deciding where your defenses go. The game offers three modes: War, Time Trial, and SkeeBoulder. Each mode gives you a different reason to keep rolling and building.

Play With Friends, Online or Offline

Rock of Ages supports online and offline multiplayer, so your group can fight each other directly. Split screen and local multiplayer are listed as tags, which means you can gather on one screen as well as play over the internet. Online PvP is available for those who want to take the fight apart. The singleplayer option is there too, if some of your group wants to play on their own.

Art and Music From Five Periods

The game spans five rich, historic periods, each with its own art style and music. The tone is comedic and the destruction is over the top, so expect a lighthearted fight rather than a serious war sim. The original soundtrack comes with the game download, so you can listen to the music outside of play as well.
