Fighting Inferno's forces
Renegade Ops is a top-down twin stick shooter built around vehicles. You drive into enemy lines and shoot your way through to reach Inferno, a madman bent on global domination. The campaign takes you across varied, luscious levels, and you pick from four playable vehicles, each one carrying its own special weapon. As you play, your character levels up and your weaponry gets stronger, so you grow into the fight rather than starting at full power.
Playing with your group
Your group has a few ways to run this together. Two players can share a screen in split-screen co-op, and up to four players can join an online co-op session. You can also play alone in single player mode. Steam lists Remote Play Together, so one person can host and others join in from there. Working together is the main draw: coordinate who drives where, combine your special weapons, and push through the enemy lines as a unit.
What to know before starting
The game also keeps a competitive edge alongside the co-op. Players compete for achievements and fight to top the online leaderboards, so even in a team session there is a reason to chase the highest score. Expect a campaign that runs across a range of environments rather than one setting, and expect the difficulty to lean on you using your vehicle's strengths and your upgraded weapons to break through.
