What ReCharge RC: High Voltage is
This is a top-down RC racing game built around a handling model that sits between arcade and simulation. The cars have modeled suspension geometry, air control, and a damage system where steering links and shocks can break, arms go floppy, bodies get scratched, and parts come off. The tuning leans toward being easy to pick up while keeping enough sim detail that people who race real RC will recognize the feel. Speed, jumps, and drifts are the core of it.
Playing together
Online multiplayer and LAN both support up to 12 players, and any track in the game works, including the thousands of user-created ones. Lobbies have built-in chat and lobby leaderboards, and the netcode is built so players on slower connections can still race. Beyond live races, every track has global leaderboards with asynchronous racing, so you can run against the ghost of any entry on the board to learn their lines. That works on tracks you build yourself too.
Building and sharing
The track editor lets you place jumps, berms, bumps, whoops, curves, hills, dips, and any other feature you want, plus free object placement with physics. Environments range from a suburban backyard and a hobby shop to an abandoned hangar and a nationals venue. Tracks share online, and the catalog keeps growing with both real-world recreations and fantasy courses. Vehicle customization covers buggies, short course trucks, micros, and solid axle monster trucks, with body shells, wheels, spoilers, and a livery and decal editor.
Other modes and setup notes
Free Roam maps are built for bashing, jumps, destruction, and stunts, with challenges like finding hidden objects and chaining flips and jumps for points. Photo mode has real camera controls and filters. Camera options include driver's stand views, first-person mounted cams, birds-eye, and follow cams, all adjustable. Real RC transmitters are supported through a setup wizard with input adjustments like expo and EPA. The game runs on low-end hardware and is tuned for the Steam Deck at high settings above 60fps with controller input. It is in Early Access, with 50+ updates already out and more planned, including campaigns, road cars, nitro RCs, drifting, and livery sharing.
