What Rapid Tap is

Rapid Tap is a grid tapping game from Wolfborg Games. A grid of buttons lights up, and you tap the flashing ones. The pace picks up the longer you keep going, so the challenge is holding on as the grid gets faster. It is a casual arcade-style round: short to learn, quick to restart, and built around beating your own streak. The game also comes with a set of skins you can switch between to change how the grid looks.

Playing it with friends

Rapid Tap supports online PvP, so you and people from your group can face off over the internet rather than passing a single screen around. Each round is simple enough that anyone can jump in without a long explanation: watch for the flashing button, hit it, and keep up as the speed climbs. Because rounds are short, it works well as a rotating seat where whoever is waiting takes the next challenge, or as a running tally of who can last the longest before the grid gets the better of them. The skins give each player a way to make their grid look like their own.

Before you start

The game is free to play and sits in the casual, indie category, so there is no long setup or steep learning curve to get through first. Expect a fast, repetitive loop rather than a campaign: the fun comes from pushing one more round and shaving a little time off your last run. The store listing carries tags including horror, violent, gore, sexual content and nudity, so it is worth knowing that the presentation may not suit everyone in the group even though the core play is just tapping buttons. Check those tags before you hand the game to someone sensitive to that kind of material.
