Ruining the party at 3 a.m.
Party Hard is a top-down stealth strategy game about a person who is fed up with the neighbours' loud parties. Instead of calling the police, you take matters into your own hands with a knife and whatever the environment offers. The story follows a series of killings at parties across the USA, told with dark humour. You move through 19 unique levels with random variations, and the environments are semi-procedurally generated, so no two runs play out exactly the same. Your main goal is to avoid getting caught while picking off unsuspecting victims one by one. Dancing and blending into a suspicious situation is a key part of staying hidden.
Playing together in the same room
Party Hard includes local co-op multiplayer, so you and a friend can sit on the same screen and ruin a party together. The Steam features also list Remote Play Together, which lets someone join your session remotely. Beyond that, the game can be played live on Twitch, where your viewers can influence what happens. They can cause chaos such as inviting more people to the party, calling in special forces, or bringing Sharknados, so the audience becomes part of the mayhem.
Characters, traps, and random chaos
There are 5 playable characters, each with a different approach. The guy who wants to get some sleep is the starting point. The ninja is fast and stealthy with a smoke bomb but should not be seen. The cop can carry bodies around without suspicion and frame innocent people. The girl can knock people out, and the butcher carries a chainsaw. You can use traps, cause explosions, and become a ninja to deal with crowds. Random events can also swing a level in your favour, like a bear showing up and killing everyone for you. On the flip side, you can trigger the DEA, SWAT, paramedics, or firefighters to arrive and ruin the party for everyone. Multiple characters are unlockable as you progress.
What to know before starting
The game is violent and includes gore, so expect dark humour and crime rather than a lighthearted romp. It is tagged as difficult, so patience with stealth and timing matters. The tone mixes horror, comedy, and story-rich elements with a great soundtrack. It is a singleplayer game at its core, with local co-op and Twitch integration layered on top.
