A Bus That Will Not Stop
OmniBus is a physics game about the most powerful bus in the universe, which cannot stop or even slow down for reasons incomprehensible to the simple human mind. You take on missions from citizens while the bus's speed climbs to unsafe levels, and the main challenge is keeping it from landing on its head or on its side. The missions are strange: you might slay demon buses, harvest space corn, or transport astronauts to a wedding as the legend foretold. There is also a football field on top of a skyscraper. The game describes itself as next-to-last gen, with physics, graphics, sound effects, and an options menu.
Playing Together
OmniBus has a versus multiplayer mode for up to four players, so your group can jump into the same session. The multiplayer derby mode is a free-for-all where drivers are pitted against each other in either a high score trick mode or a deathmatch mode. The trick mode also works on its own: pick a bus, pull off jumps, flips, and twists, and chase a high score. Remote Play Together is listed as a Steam feature, which lets people join in through that system. The game also carries local multiplayer and multiplayer tags.
Before You Start
The game is tagged as difficult, so expect the physics to fight you while the bus keeps accelerating. The mission mode is described as bizarre, and the trick mode as thrilling, with the goal of achieving goals, setting high scores, and receiving total enlightenment. The store text also tags it as funny and as psychological horror, so the tone runs from silly to unsettling. Pick mission mode for objectives, trick mode for score chasing, or versus mode to put your group against each other.
