Build a Viking settlement on a new continent
Northgard: Definitive Edition is a real-time strategy game set in a land Norse explorers have just discovered. You lead a clan, assign Vikings to jobs like gathering and crafting, and manage your resources so your people survive harsh winters and hostile neighbors. The map is divided into zones you claim and develop, and each clan brings its own bonuses, features, and playstyle. You can push toward victory through conquest, fame, lore, or trade, so a match does not always have to end in open war.
Play together with your group
The game supports online co-op and online PvP. In multiplayer you pick a lobby and either team up with friends or face off against them. Conquest mode is a standalone mode you can play solo or co-op, sending you through a chain of scenarios where success depends on players working together. Bifröst is a mode for up to 4 players where each person customizes skills, buildings, and perks while racing across realms to stop the Vanir's assault. Ranked lobbies exist for players who want to test themselves against others.
What to know before starting
Story mode follows Rig, son of the murdered Viking High King, and his companion Brand as they travel Northgard to find out who killed his father. Part II, Cross of Vidar, continues with Rig, Liv, and Svarn in Neustria after Ragnarök. The Definitive Edition bundles a long run of free updates, including new clans and warchiefs, diplomacy changes, military rework, expeditions with craftable cosmetics earned through play, and a map editor for building your own battlefields. The Ragnarok map is a devastated land with dangerous creatures and a volcano tile at its center.
