What Nienix: Cosmic Warfare is

Nienix: Cosmic Warfare is a top-down space shooter with action RPG progression. You fly through open galaxies searching for the lost artifact Nienix, which every faction in the known universe wants. Combat is physics-based bullet hell: dense patterns of projectiles you dodge while returning fire, so both your gear and your control of the ship matter. On top of the shooting there is a full RPG layer — skill trees, legendary loot, and hundreds of unique items and abilities that you can mod to fit what you need. You can build yourself as a tiny fighter, a massive battleship, or something that commands a fleet, and the progression systems are designed to support those different playstyles.

Playing it with friends

The campaign can be played co-op with up to 6 players, so a group can run the story together rather than each grinding alone. If your group prefers competition instead of cooperation, deathmatch and team-based PvP are available for up to 40 players. That gives a Discord group two clear ways to spend an evening: work through the campaign side by side, or split into teams and fight each other.

Before you start

The universe is procedurally generated, so no two play sessions are the same — expect different layouts and encounters each time you jump in. The campaign runs 15+ hours, and finishing it unlocks Continuum difficulty, which adds new enemies, items, item modifications, plus Continuum Events and Continuum Challenges. The game supports controllers as well as mouse and keyboard. Since the challenge is built around bullet hell patterns and gear checks, expect to spend time both farming better equipment and learning how to handle the projectiles.
