What MXGP 2020 is
MXGP 2020 is the official videogame of the Motocross Championship, built around the 2020 MXGP and MX2 categories. You take on every rider, bike and team in those categories and work toward becoming champion. The game leans realistic and simulation-focused, with physics and driving at the center of the experience. It runs in 3D and supports both first-person and third-person views, so you can pick the camera that suits how you like to ride. Alongside the main championship structure, there is a singleplayer side for riding on your own terms.
Playing together
Online PvP is the main way groups meet on the track, with dedicated servers handling the multiplayer races. The store text describes the connection as reliable, with zero latency and very large bandwidth, so races are meant to run smoothly. There is also Online Co-Op listed among the tags, alongside PvE, giving your group options beyond head-to-head competition. Waypoint mode adds a shared challenge: you place checkpoints on the ground to build a route, then post your best time online to earn points that help you progress. Your friends can take the same route and try to beat your time, which turns a solo run into something the whole group can chase.
Before you start
The track editor is a big part of the package. You choose from different settings, use new elevations, and share what you build with the community, so expect to spend time on design as well as racing. The Playground is a training area inspired by the Norwegian fjords where you can practice riding and explore the scenery before entering competition. Customisation covers bikes and riders with over 110 official brands, and the store text notes that your choices affect performance, so tuning is worth paying attention to rather than treating it as purely cosmetic.
