What MXGP 2019 is
MXGP 2019 - The Official Motocross Videogame covers the 2019 season of the official Motocross Championship, with the riders, bikes and teams of the MXGP and MX2 championships. The races take place at official venues around the world, from Neuquen to Shanghai. Weather changes during a race through the dynamic weather feature, so conditions are not fixed from the start of an event. You can join the MX2 and MXGP championships with a sponsor's backing, or get hired by an official team, and you can change the standings if you are not happy with how they look.
Playing together
Online PvP lets you race other players directly. Beyond racing, the Track Editor lets you build a track from a variety of landscapes and difficult terrains, then share it with the community, so your group can race each other on tracks one of you made. The Waypoint mode works the same way for time trials: you place your own checkpoints, run the route for the fastest time, and share it online to earn points that progress you in the game. Custom content is a large part of the game, and the Track Editor is one of several ways to create it and challenge the Motocross community worldwide.
Before you start
The Playground in Provence is the place to learn the basics before racing for real. It offers free roaming plus two MX tracks, one SX track and one Enduro track, with adjustable weather and day/night settings. Tests there measure speed, agility and in-air control, and completing them unlocks customisation sets. For bikes, you pick between two-strokes and four-strokes from MXGP and MX2, and there are more than 10,000 customisation items for your rider and bike. Expect a simulation-leaning motocross game: learning to handle the bikes and the terrain matters as much as knowing the circuits.
