What the game is

Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame is a motocross racing simulation built around the official 2017 Monster Energy Supercross Season. You ride the official bikes from both the 250SX and 450SX classes, with the athletes from those classes, on the official tracks of the season — Daytona among them. The game covers the sport as a stadium-based racing competition, and it aims to reproduce the bikes, tracks, accessories and riders accurately. A career mode gives you a longer structure to work through, with extensive customization options for both your rider and your bike.

Playing together

There is Online PvP, so you can race against players from all over the world in the online modes, or go at it offline against the AI. The Track Editor is the part that matters most for a group: you pick a stadium, build your own track, and share it online with your friends. That means your group can trade custom tracks and race on each other's creations instead of only running the official ones. Customization also gives everyone a distinct look — more than 80 official brands and 300 items are available for dressing up your rider and bike, so each person in the group can show up differently on the line. You can also chase the top of the leaderboard if your group wants a shared target to beat.

Before you start

Expect a simulation-leaning racing game rather than an arcade toy: it's a licensed Supercross product, so the focus is on the real season, real riders and real tracks. The career mode is a solo-oriented path, while the online modes are where the group play happens, so plan around racing together there and swapping Track Editor layouts. Customization is deep, so budget some time for it before your first session if you want everyone to look the way you want. The game is a single package covering the 2017 season specifically — it does not cover other seasons.
