What MIMESIS is
MIMESIS is a 4-player online co-op survival horror game from ReLU Games, Inc. You and three friends are inside a building filled with threats, and your job is to gather scrap and other valuables, then haul everything back to the tram. The monsters here copy your friends' voices and behavior, so the person standing next to you might be a real teammate or a monster wearing their face. Trust your friends, but doubt them. The game is in Early Access, and it carries both horror and comedy in its tone, with dark humor and procedural generation shaping each run.
How your group plays together
You need four players and everyone needs a microphone, since voice is part of how the monsters imitate your group. Stick together, split up only when you have to, and talk constantly so you can tell who is who. Threats are scattered through the building, and pushing past them as a team is how you get your findings back safely. The social deduction element means you will spend as much time reading your friends as fighting monsters.
What to know before starting
The contaminated rain is dangerous, and once night falls the tram is the only shelter from it. You have to be back before midnight, and taking on too much rain means the next monster might be you. Before that, you can restore power to the dormant service station and use it to buy and upgrade equipment, which makes a real difference to survival, though it costs scrap. Use a headset or earphones for the best experience, since hearing voices clearly matters when anyone could be a copy.
