What Lucid Clowder is

Lucid Clowder is a fast paced third person shooter built around movement. You keep moving, jump and dash around the arena, and try to predict where your opponents will be rather than standing still and trading shots. It's an arena and hero shooter in the same breath: you pick a weapon, and that choice shapes how you play. Weapons come in weight classes, and heavier or lighter gear changes your move speed and reload speed, so your loadout decides how mobile you feel. Every weapon has its own specialty plus a secondary skill you trigger separately from your normal shots. Ammunition never runs out — reserve ammo is infinite — and your weapon reloads on its own after you stop attacking for a while, which keeps the pace up instead of pulling you into menu fiddling.

Playing it with friends

The game supports online co-op and online PvP, so a group can either team up or fight each other. Matches are about reading the other players: since movement is the core skill, you'll be dashing, double jumping and repositioning constantly, and the fun with a group comes from learning each other's habits and catching people mid-route. Because weapons change your speed, a squad can spread across weight classes and cover different roles without any formal class system getting in the way.

Controls and movement tech

Movement uses W A S D, with space for jump and a double jump. Left click shoots, right click uses your secondary skill, and shift dashes. There's a bit of depth in the movement: pressing jump at the end of a dash performs a super jump that covers great distance, which is the main way to cross an arena quickly or escape a fight. R or mouse 4 scratches. Expect to spend a little time getting the dash-into-jump timing down, since it's the difference between covering ground and getting caught.

Before you start

One thing to know going in: the developer states the game will not receive content or bug fix updates anymore, and asks players not to spend money on it. Treat it as a finished, static package — what's there now is what you'll get. It's free to play, so you can jump in with your group and see whether the movement and weapon mix suits you.
