What Knight Squad is
Knight Squad is a top-down 2D arena game for 1 to 8 players, built around fast, chaotic rounds. You fight with weapons from the Middle Ages mixed with laser guns and miniguns: swords, bows and arrows, crossbows, bombs, and more. The game offers a bunch of versus modes, including Team Capture the Flag, Last Man Standing, Capture the Grail, and Soccer. Each mode has a bunch of levels to play through, and you can also take on very difficult challenge levels and work your way up the leaderboard.
How a group plays together
Your group can play locally, and the game supports Remote Play Together, so friends can join in over the internet as well. Online multiplayer lets you face off against other players around the world. If your group does not have enough people to fill the lobby, bots step in to complete the roster. You pick the bot difficulty yourself, so you can set the match to be relaxed or genuinely demanding depending on how much challenge your group wants that night.
What to know before starting
Expect a party game that turns friends into frenemies quickly, since rounds are short and the arena gets crowded. The game is tagged as difficult in places, particularly the challenge levels, so a first session might involve some trial and error while your group learns the maps and weapon feel. Controller is a listed tag, so having controllers ready for a local group makes setup easier. Pick a mode that fits your group's mood — a structured objective mode like Capture the Grail or Team Capture the Flag plays differently from a straight Last Man Standing brawl — and adjust bot difficulty to keep things fun rather than frustrating.
