What King 'n Knight is
King 'n Knight is a 2D arcade platformer set in a medieval fantasy world full of demons. You fight through the levels to restore peace to the realm and free the princess from evil. The game draws on 16-bit era platformers, with pixel graphics, arcade-style action and a co-op campaign. There are more than 12 levels, over 50 monsters and more than 12 bosses to work through, so there is a decent amount of ground to cover before the run is done.
Playing it as a group
You can play solo or in co-op with up to 4 players, either online or on the same screen. There is also Remote Play Together, which lets friends join your session even if they do not have the game. Split screen and local co-op are supported, so a couch group works as well as a Discord call.
Six classes are available: knight, paladin, wizard, sorcerer, rogue and archer. Picking different ones changes how the group handles a level, and the equipment you buy shapes your role further. The bow lets you hit enemies from a distance, the sword suits clearing out small monsters, and the axe is for the tougher ones. The torch is harder to use but helps you guide your friends through dark sections, which makes it a real support tool rather than a damage option.
Before you start
Gold is scattered through the levels, and you spend it in the villages on weapons and equipment for your hero. Expect to adjust your gear as you go, since the situation decides what is worth carrying. Controller support is included, which suits this kind of platformer. The whole thing is built around playing together, so the fun comes from coordinating classes and gear rather than from one person carrying the group.
