What IRMÃO Grande & Brasileiro 2 is

IRMÃO Grande & Brasileiro 2 is a competitive confinement simulator in the style of reality TV. You build a cast out of the people you like most — your friends, characters from shows you swear you never watched, public figures — lock them all inside a house, and watch the circus catch fire. Each week the participants face a challenge, and only one comes out of it immune. Everyone who did not get immunity votes to send two people to the elimination wall, with the penalty being the ultimate one: the eviction. The game generates thousands of absurd situations for them to live through, and the writing leans into parody, dark comedy and surreal humor. The interface is hand-drawn and colorful, with a cartoon look and nine or more original chiptune tracks.

Playing it with your group

The cast is the point. You set each participant's personality attributes and find one of the 32 combinations of human nature, so your friends end up as distinct people inside the house rather than blank avatars. The Picreu character creator lets you build each little figure from face pieces, colors and accessories, or use photos and images. You can also customize the house itself and the event deck that generates what happens each week.

You decide how much control you keep. Votes can be simulated by the game, or you can take the reins and dictate the result of every voting round yourself. Game speed is adjustable, and you can save and share participants, houses and event decks online. Steam Workshop lets you publish and download casts, houses and decks made by the community. Twitch integration connects your audience in real time: viewers vote, and you choose whether to honor their wishes or not. Remote Play Together is available for sharing the session.

Before you start

The game is tagged singleplayer and dialogue heavy, with choices that matter, procedural generation and replay value. There is a level editor and the game is moddable. One note on content: IRMÃO Grande & Brasileiro 2 can build narratives touching sensitive themes such as physical and emotional aggression and manipulation, abuse, restrictions on medication and substance use, and the exploitation of atypical behavior for profit — the same territory any confinement reality show covers. Worth knowing before you lock anyone in. Also, do not enter the Jardim de Olhecas.
