Defend the Hypercore as a team

HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed is a wave-based shooter where you play as an action figure. You and your friends break out of your packaging, hunt the levels for weapons and resources, and defend the Hypercore against waves of weaponized toys. Between waves you get time to search the map, find hidden secrets, and build up your defences before the next attack starts. The story campaign sends you through all of this with the goal of defeating Major Evil alongside Sgt. Max Ammo.

Playing together

The game supports 1-4 player online and local co-op, with full split-screen support for both online and local play. You can play the whole game in split-screen on the couch with up to four players, covering both co-op and PvP. If you would rather play offline, single player works with player bots that listen to your commands, collect resources, and help build defences. Difficulty scales based on the number of players, so a full group and a solo run feel different. Everything in the game can be unlocked through play, with no pay-to-progress.

Camera, modes, and things to know

You can switch between first-person and third-person camera modes at any time. Beyond the story campaign, classic PvP modes are available for up to eight players: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Battery, Infection, and King of the Hill. The design goes for simple, light-hearted shooting with no weapon meta or slide cancelling, so expect straightforward gunplay rather than a deep competitive system.
