Racing on Brooms
Hex Rally Racers is a 3D arcade racer where you fly on a magic broom instead of driving a kart. The tracks twist and turn hard, and the broom itself is bouncy and swoopy, so getting a feel for its speed is half the game. You will zip between trees, skim over rivers, and climb into the sky. There are six tracks spread across three worlds: a moonlit forest with waterfalls and lakes, a mushroom grove where you bounce off giant mushrooms, and a sky city with windmills, villages, and castles. You can pick from four different brooms, each suited to a different playstyle, and choose from eight witch outfits to look the part.
Playing Together
The game supports four-player local split-screen, so up to three friends can race alongside you on the same machine. Against the AI, you race against seven other witches. Combat is the core of the fun: each broom has its own set of items, and you gather specific ingredients during the race to craft unique spells to throw at your opponents. Learning which spell does what and when to use it is what separates a clean win from a chaotic one. Remote Play Together is also listed as a Steam feature, which lets friends join over the internet.
Before You Start
This is a casual, family-friendly game tagged for controller use, so a gamepad will likely feel more natural than a keyboard for a fast arcade racer. It is a PvP-style combat racer, so expect to be on the receiving end of hexes as often as you are dishing them out. The singleplayer mode has you racing the AI field, while the multiplayer mode is local split-screen. Pick a broom that matches how you like to drive, learn its item set, and grab ingredients as you go rather than racing past them.
