What Full Throttle Remastered is
Full Throttle is a point-and-click graphic adventure originally released by LucasArts in 1995, and this remastered edition was restored with the original creators involved. You play Ben Throttle, leader of the biker gang the Polecats, and the story runs through motorcycles, mayhem and murder. One minute you're on the road with nothing on your mind, then a man in a suit offers your gang a deal, and when you come to you've got a lump on your head, the law after you, and the sense that the road ahead is about to get much rougher.
The remaster adds all-new hand-drawn and 3D high-resolution artwork with 4K support, plus remastered audio and music. The score is a full digital soundtrack featuring the GONE JACKALS, a biker band. You can switch freely between classic and remastered modes, and mix and match the audio and graphics options separately, so you can run the old look with the new sound or the other way around. A concept art browser with work from Peter Chan is included, along with a commentary track from the game's original creators.
Playing it together
Full Throttle Remastered supports Remote Play Together, so one person who owns the game can bring the rest of the group in and you can follow along as a shared session. Since it's a singleplayer adventure, the group's job is mostly to watch, react, and argue about what to try next — which suits a story-rich comedy with plenty of personality. The classic point-and-click structure gives everyone something to shout about: what to pick up, what to say, and where to go.
Before you start
Expect a short, story-driven game rather than a long grind; it's tagged as short and story-rich, so a session can be wrapped up in one sitting. It's a 2D old-school point-and-click with pixel graphics in classic mode, so the puzzles follow the logic of 1990s adventures — inspecting scenes, combining ideas, and talking to characters. If your group is used to modern hand-holding, be ready to look around carefully and think laterally. The tone is comedic and atmospheric, with a hard-rocking soundtrack underneath, and the remastered presentation means you can pick whichever visual and audio style suits the group best.
