What Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour is
Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour is a fishing simulation built around realistic angling rather than arcade action. The career mode puts you through the ranks from amateur to elite angler, competing against over 100 of the world's best across three disciplines: Bass, Carp and Predator fishing. You pick one path or all three, and you can switch discipline whenever you like. As you climb, you unlock sponsorship opportunities, earn career earnings and gain social media followers.
The game includes 10 venues, split between 5 US Bass venues and 5 European venues. On Bass destinations like Lake Guntersville and Lake Travis you use the boat's sonar and GPS, while on famous Carp lakes such as Gigantica and Manor Farm at Linear Fisheries you stalk from the margins. There are 29 species of fish to target, including varieties of Bass and Carp, Brown and Rainbow Trout, Wells Catfish and Channel Catfish. Each species has its own behavioural system and reacts to weather conditions and time of day, so conditions matter as much as your tackle.
Playing it with your group
Custom multiplayer lets you set the rules before you fish against friends online. You choose the number of rounds, the length of the match, the catch species, the venue, the weather conditions and the time of day, so a group can agree on a format that suits everyone. That makes it easy to run a quick session or a longer contest on the same terms.
Beyond private matches, online tournaments form the Dovetail Fishing League, where the aim is the title of 'Angler of the Month' along with rewards. Community, weekly and in-game mastery challenges unlock exclusive items, giving the group something shared to work toward between sessions.
Before you start
Expect a game that rewards preparation and reading conditions. Over 50 licensed partners provide hundreds of items of equipment, and you will need the right setup for the species and venue you are fishing. Weather and time of day affect fish behaviour, so a spot that produced yesterday may not produce today.
The game is endorsed by Scott Martin, the most successful FLW Tour bass angler of all time, and Ali Hamidi, leading Korda angler, both of whom appear among the pro anglers you compete against alongside Jacob Wheeler and Ian Russell. Career mode works as a singleplayer progression, while the multiplayer and tournament features are where your group meets up.
