A job interview down in the sewers
Escape Memoirs: Questionable Side Stories puts you in the shoes of a henchman trying to get hired by an international criminal organisation. The catch is that the interview is being held in a very inconvenient location, and the only way there runs through an old sewer system. The whole thing is played for laughs: the puzzles are simple and fun, and they are just as likely to make you laugh as to make your friends laugh at you. Expect a linear, atmospheric trip through a dirty, realistic-looking sewer rather than an open world to roam.
Solving puzzles as a group
You can go through it solo, or bring friends along for up to 5-player multiplayer. Either way the core loop is the same: find what is hidden in the environment, work out what it is for, and use it to get past whatever is blocking the route. Some puzzles are built around logic and investigation, so splitting up and comparing notes tends to pay off. The co-op campaign is where the comedy comes from, since one player's mistake is everyone's problem, and there is plenty of room to distract each other while the clock on the interview keeps ticking.
What to look for along the way
The sewers are full of things worth poking at beyond the main route. Hidden collectibles are scattered through the system, and so are safety violations, which you can hunt down as you explore. Both reward a careful eye, so it pays to check corners and side areas instead of rushing straight to the next door. The tone stays relaxed and casual even when a puzzle stalls you, and the path forward is linear enough that the group always knows roughly where it is heading. Bring a bit of patience for trial and error, a willingness to talk through what you are seeing, and a sense of humour about who gets blamed when a puzzle goes wrong.
