What Eggo is

Eggo is a small companion that lives in the corner of your desktop. You start by adopting a single egg, then watch it crack open from the first tiny fissure until the shell shatters completely. From there you feed it, care for it, and see it through its whole life: hatching, growing up, traveling, falling in love, and starting a family of its own. Every "clack" of your keyboard gives it motivation to hunt for treasures, so it keeps working and collecting while you do other things on your computer. It's a relaxed, hand-drawn idler with a cute cartoon look, and it's meant to sit alongside you rather than demand your full attention.

Playing it with friends

Eggo has online co-op, so you can invite the creature onto your screen and your friends' screens at the same time. Everyone adopts their own egg, and you raise and care for them together. The social side goes further than just showing off: you can scout out a partner for your Eggo and talk with your friends to arrange a match between their Eggos. When two Eggos with mutual affection meet, a brand-new egg is born, and you get to see which parent's traits it inherits — including super-rare hidden genes. You can also dress your Eggo up and date your friends' Eggos, so there's plenty to compare and share across the group.

Before you start

Expect a slow, steady loop rather than a demanding game. Your Eggo evolves from a fluffy little ball into an independent traveler with a small backpack, collecting rare treasures from different planets in the corner of your screen. Those treasures trade for gold coins, which buy new outfits, furniture, and decorations for Eggo and its home. There are over 100 outfits and appearances to mix and match — ear shape, eye color, fur, and more — and each combination fills in your collection album. It plays as a singleplayer experience that becomes multiplayer when your friends join in, so you can start alone and bring everyone in later.
