What Dynasty Feud is

Dynasty Feud is a fast 2D platform brawler for 2-4 players where you do not pick a single fighter. You pick a whole dynasty of 5 characters, and those characters are your life bar. Lose all five and you are out of the round. Deaths come fast: one hit removes the character you are currently playing, and the next one steps in with a completely different set of strengths and weaknesses. That means every match keeps shifting under you. A jump you misjudge or an attack you whiff can end a character instantly, so spacing and knowing what each family member can do matter more than long combos.

There are 40 characters spread across 8 dynasties, and each one plays differently. The Cartwrongs win by keeping enemies at distance with long and medium range bullets. The Yngling Clan is balanced, with strong melee, effective medium range throws, good defense and mobility. The Fancier's Crew mixes projectiles, explosives and melee. The Nekoyama-Shi is the most mobile dynasty with sharp melee skills. The Uurg Aaarg members have decent projectile and mid-range options plus heavy melee, but they are hard to control until you learn them. The House of Arthur is very resilient thanks to shields and armor, at the cost of mobility and reach. The People of the Sun lean on their SUPER FEUD attack, where each character gains a special power, and they can sacrifice themselves to fill the SUPER FEUD meter automatically. The Project X-22 subjects spend mind energy to attack and must recharge it, though a full mind energy reserve lets them survive a hit. They are the trickiest dynasty to learn.

Playing together as a group

You can play locally or online, so the same group works whether you are sitting on one couch or spread across different places. Local play supports up to 4 players, and Remote Play Together lets friends join over the internet from a local session. Online matches are there for quick games, and RANKED MODE is available when the group wants something to climb.

Matches come in free-for-all and team formats, so you can split into sides or everyone fend for themselves. ALL-STAR MODE lets you build your own dynasty out of the roster, which is where a group can argue over the best lineup and then test it against each other.

Before you start

Expect a quick, punishing pace rather than drawn-out rounds. Characters die in one hit and the one you control next may suit your habits far less, so being comfortable with the whole roster pays off more than mastering a single favorite. Learning the eight dynasties helps too: their ranges, mobility and defensive options differ a lot, and knowing what an opponent's family can do tells you how to approach them. Some dynasties, like the Uurg Aaarg and Project X-22, take more time before they click, so give them a few matches before judging them.
