What Drawful 2 is

Drawful 2 is a party game where everyone draws badly and everyone else guesses what the drawing was supposed to be. You get a prompt like "creepy tiger" or "two moms having a great day," you sketch it on your phone or tablet, and the other players type in what they think you drew. Then all the answers go up on screen and everyone votes for the one they believe is the real prompt. The fun comes from the fact that the wrong answers are usually funnier than the correct one, and people happily vote for them.

It supports 3 to 8 players, plus an audience that can join along. The game runs in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

Playing together as a group

Your phones and tablets act as the controllers, so nobody needs to pass a mouse around. Each player draws on their own device and types guesses on their own device, and the results appear on the shared screen for the whole room to see.

Drawful 2 is local multiplayer, but it works over streams too. Share your screen on a video call with Discord, Zoom, Steam Broadcast, Google Hangouts or similar, and let remote friends join from any web-enabled device. Look for the prompts to share audio so everyone hears the game. Remote Play Together is available through Steam as well. There are also expanded tools for streaming built in.

Before you start

You can add your own prompts, which is where in-jokes with your friends come in — you can make the game as weird as your group wants. Since players type free-form answers, the game includes a content filtering tool that blocks offensive answers, and a moderation tool that lets answers be reviewed before they show up on the game screen. Worth turning those on if kids or a wider audience are watching.

Expect terrible drawings. That is the whole point, and voting for the most convincing wrong answer is a legitimate strategy.
