A board game built from Demon Slayer locations
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! turns the anime into a virtual board game. You roll dice to move across boards based on iconic locations from the series, including Mt. Fujikasane and Asakusa. The board shifts between day and night: during the day you take part in events and minigames to prepare, and at night you go looking for demons to defeat. The goal is to come out as the strongest Demon-Slayer swordsman. You pick your fighter from the Demon Slayer Corps., with Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke and the Hashira available, and Nezuko shows up on the board as a support character.
Playing together with your group
The game supports up to four players, both offline on one setup and online, so your group can join the same match either way. Between turns you'll hit minigames where you either compete directly against each other or team up in pairs of two. At certain points a powerful demon like Akaza shows up, and then every player has to cooperate to bring it down, which mixes up the pace from the usual race across the board. Quick-Time Events show up as part of the action, so paying attention during those moments matters. Online play requires the latest patch installed.
Before you start
The game runs on a controller, and it's tagged as casual, so a group that doesn't play together often can pick it up without much fuss. The boards are 3D and the whole thing leans on the Demon Slayer setting, with demons, fantasy locations and the Corps. characters front and center. The Digital Edition includes a set of four stamps featuring Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke, which you use to communicate with other players in-game, with the note that content and details may change. Subtitle language depends on the region the product was purchased in: Korean purchases include only Korean subtitles, while purchases outside Korea include Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
