Boarding Alien Space-Hulks

You play a heavily armed privateer taking on government contracts. Each run puts you inside procedurally generated alien starships packed with cyborg monstrosities, robotics, and security systems. Your goal in every hulk is the same: destroy the central System Core. The ships are complex and different each time, so you plan a route, watch what stands in your way, and fight through to the core.

Planning Your Loadout

Before you commit, you pick an equipment loadout from a pool of over 70 weapons and items, including frag-cannons, tractor-beams, flamethrowers, and nukes. Income from cleared ships lets you buy better gear for harder targets. The tradeoff is real: failure costs you the money you invested, so choosing what to bring and which ship to hit next is half the battle. The campaign is built to be replayed, testing your tactics each time you go in.

Playing Together

Cryptark supports Remote Play Together, which lets friends join your session over a connection. Steam also tags it for co-op and local co-op, so there are ways to bring others along for the boarding runs. Fully lip-synced voice acting gives your shipmates personality during the fights, and a soundtrack built for intense firefights keeps the pace up.

What To Know Before Starting

This is a 2D twin-stick shooter with roguelike and roguelite elements, and it is tagged as difficult. Expect bullet-hell encounters against dense security systems, and expect to lose runs. High-score leaderboards track how your skills stack up. Go in ready to plan carefully, spend your earnings wisely, and try again when a ship gets the better of you.
