What Containment Initiative 2 is
Containment Initiative 2 is a co-op shooter set against an infected horde, built around asymmetric play: one person is in VR while the other plays on the same PC with mouse and keyboard. You can also go into it alone in VR. The two roles are meant to cover each other rather than split up and hope for the best. The VR player gets the full 3D view and the physical handling of the weapons, while the PC player watches their back from the screen.
Playing it together
Two people can share one PC, with the VR player wearing the headset and the second person driving with mouse and keyboard. If you'd rather not be in the same room, you can invite someone from your Steam friends list and play through Steam Remote Play Together. Either way the setup is the same: one of you is in VR, the other is on the PC, and both have their own progression to work through. Split screen and local co-op are part of how the game is built, so the pairing is the core of the experience rather than a side mode.
Weapons and progression
Reloading is handled realistically: each gun operates and reloads the way its real-world counterpart does, so fumbling a reload under pressure costs you. Speed and precision when handling the weapon matter as much as aim. Beyond the shooting, there's a progression system covering both players, with unlockable guns, attachments, and player upgrades. You'll spend time exploring and scavenging for loot, new weapons, and attachments to bring back for the next run.
Before you start
One person needs a VR headset for the VR role, and the second player uses the same PC with mouse and keyboard. If you're playing remotely with a friend, you'll be using Steam Remote Play Together instead of sharing a machine. Expect a post-apocalyptic, survival-horror tone with realistic military-style combat and zombies as the enemy, and expect to spend time looting between fights rather than only shooting.
