What Concordia: Digital Edition is

Concordia: Digital Edition is a turn-based strategy game based on the Euro-style board game. You take the role of a Roman merchant and build a trade empire across maps of the ancient world. Turn by turn you use the actions on your cards to plan and carry out your strategy: send colonists to new cities over land or sea, build houses to expand your network, trade goods, and manage your storage space and production. The rules are easy to pick up, and the depth comes from the trade-offs — your move can strengthen you and your opponent at the same time, so choosing which of those to favor is the whole game. It supports 2 to 6 players, and you can play alone against the AI. An interactive tutorial walks you through how to play.

How your group plays it together

Your group can meet up in a few ways. Online cross-platform multiplayer lets friends play against each other from PC, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch, so a group spread across devices can still sit at the same table. Hot seat mode puts everyone on one screen, which suits local play. Asynchronous multiplayer is available for groups that cannot all be online at once, and Remote Play Together lets someone share their session with others. You can also mix in AI opponents to fill out a table or to practice solo before facing your friends.

What to know before starting

Expect a game where planning ahead matters more than quick reactions — every decision is made deliberately and can pay off for more than one player. Extra maps and expansion modules change how a session plays out: Salsa adds Salt as a new trading good and a Forum mechanic, Fish Market adds the Fish Market module, Venus adds a team game mode, and Aegyptus et Creta, Corsica and Gallia, and Britannia & Germania each bring two maps with their own twist and map-specific mechanic. Each DLC contains two maps, so your group should agree in advance which maps and modules are in play before the session starts.
