A mission to destroy everything that isn't cool
Colossus Down is a 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up with hand-drawn visuals where Nika pilots her combat mecha, MechaNika, on a mission to demolish the planet. Her targets include history books, planned obsolescence, kitschy dresses, boring video game sagas and pea soup. Her friend Agatha, an insomniac butcher and prophetess of Carnivorism, joins the mission with the Great Bleeding Pig, god of Carnivorism. The game mixes beat 'em up, shoot 'em up, platforming and puzzle sections across 18 distinct levels in the Neon District, Candyland and the rest of the Psychotic world.
Playing together as a group
The campaign supports 2 players: one takes the controls of MechaNika with Nika, the other plays Agatha and the Great Bleeding Pig. Combat rewards managing resources and chaining strategic combos, with up to 8 special attacks to unlock, including the dumbshredder, the chopping tornado, the groundcracker and the scarlet vomit. Remote Play Together is supported, so friends can join in even when they are not on the same machine. The game is built for controller play.
Before you start
Along the way you will find that Nika and Agatha are not the only ones with a plan to change the world, and things are not as simple as they first appear. The quest asks for tough, irreversible decisions that lead to 4 alternative endings, so choices cannot be undone. Lives are a factor too: you can complete the mission with infinite lives or switch to permadeath mode for a single chance. Expect a colorful, funny tone full of geeky references, plus an original soundtrack that shifts with the action.
