What Codename CURE is

Codename CURE is a first-person co-operative zombie shooter for up to five players. You take on the role of special military operatives sent into infected areas of a post-apocalyptic world. The action is fast and focused on shooting down large numbers of zombies while working through mission goals. It is a class-based game, so what you bring to the team matters as much as your aim.

How your group plays together

There are two main ways to play. In objective mode, the team plants controlled explosives in infected zones and then pulls a short, sharp exit. Everyone needs to move together and cover each other to get the job done. Before a mission, each player picks one of five classes: Pointman, Support, Assault, Technician, or Sniper. Each class has its own play style and equipment, so a balanced squad handles the missions better than a group running the same loadout.

Survival mode is a wave-based, no-win scenario. Between waves you resupply with a dynamic selection of weapons and equipment, then hold out as the odds get stacked against you. The difficulty options adapt to the number of players, so a full squad and a smaller group face different pressure.

Before you start

CURE can be played online or offline, with or without computer-controlled team mates, so you can fill gaps in your roster when friends are unavailable. The game includes Steam Workshop support, which means there is a range of community-made content to look into once you have the basics down. It is tagged with gore and survival horror elements, so expect a bloody, tense atmosphere alongside the shooting.
