What Code Velocity is
Code Velocity is a typing game dressed up as a chase. You pick a side: a cop chasing thieves, or a thief trying to get away. Your character moves as fast as you type, so clean, fast input is what carries you across the screen. Keep typing without mistakes and you trigger an acceleration effect that stacks on top of your base speed.
The setting is New Metropolis, a futuristic animal city where the "Black Keyers" hack the transport systems, financial networks and public safety protocols. The cast is drawn in a 2D chibi style with cute animal characters, and the transition scenes focus on the chase itself. The main menu runs on relaxed, cheerful music, and the soundtrack tightens into a tense pace once a battle gets going, with skill sound effects layered on top.
How a group plays it together
The game runs real-time online matchmaking in three configurations: 1V1, 2V2 and 1V3. If a lobby needs bodies, AI fills the gap, so you can start a match without waiting on a full roster. In team modes you and your partner split the work — one pressing the advantage while the other covers ground, or both piling onto a single escape route.
Props are part of the fight: roadblocks and banana peels can be dropped to disrupt whoever is behind or ahead of you. Vehicles refresh randomly during a match, so grabbing one when it appears is a decision you make mid-chase. That mix of typing, props and vehicle control is where the strategy sits — you are not just racing the clock, you are reading the field and choosing when to spend an item.
Before you start
Your typing is the mechanic, so expect the game to punish sloppy input rather than reward mashing. Accuracy matters as much as raw words per minute, since errors break the streak that gives you the acceleration effect.
Progress runs through more than 50 achievements tied to specific tasks — catching thieves, escaping successfully, or using roadblocks and banana peels in a set way. Completing them pays out in-game currency, which the store exchanges for character outfits, vehicle skins and skill props. Achievements sync with Steam Achievements and Cloud Save, so your unlocks and honors carry over between sessions.
