What Cat Warfare Is

Cat Warfare is a multiplayer first-person arena shooter where you play as a cat out for revenge. It leans on old-school shooter design: fast movement, a classic multi-weapon arsenal, and straightforward arena combat. The game is in Early Access, and the 5th Year Update brought new tech and upgrades to it. Expect a violent, arcade-style shooter with gore and sci-fi settings rather than a tactical or realistic one.

Playing With Your Group

The core modes are built for groups: Classic Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, Cursed Capture The Flag, and Control. Team modes let your group split up and coordinate, while Deathmatch puts everyone against everyone. Online PvP is the way matches are played, and you can host a match yourself or join one through the server browser. Before the fight starts, each player picks their weapon from the arsenal: Nail Gun, Plasma Gun, Minigun, Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle, or Tesla Gun. Choosing different guns across the group covers different ranges and play styles, so a squad can spread out roles instead of everyone running the same loadout.

Maps, Customization and What to Know

Matches take place across different environments, including a city, space, and a factory, so arenas change the sightlines and how fights play out. The free version already covers hosting and joining matches, the server browser, custom cats, calling cards, and access to game events. A full DLC adds gear colors, clan tags, extra calling cards, and 1000 catTags on purchase, on top of everything in the free version. That split is worth knowing before you start so your group agrees on what everyone has access to.

The game is tagged as violent and gory, so keep that in mind for anyone sensitive to that. It's also in Early Access, which means rough edges are possible; the developers ask that bugs be reported through the discussions forum or their Discord.
